Twitter now lets you see all the tweets sent from a specific location

Twitter is silently rolling out a new feature for precise locations on tweets, so now some users can see where tweets were tweeted from without opening them up for a detailed view.

This feature, first seen by TechCrunch, allows you to tag your tweets with specific locations, like "Mashable HQ" or a nearby store, which are visible to some people as you scroll through your timeline.

If you click on this location, it will pull up a new screen with a map on the top showing a feed of tweets that have come from that location.



Under the map, you can see that this feature is powered by Foursquare, which is a new development for Twitter. Although Twitter announced it was teaming with Foursquare to bring specific locations to Twitter users, this new expansion on the feature was not teased or even announced by Twitter.

The new location feature may help spark Moments, which uses location data to build a feed of tweets around specific event.

You can also forgo hashtags to see tweets from people who are actually at a place where news is happening instead of wading through the swath of tweets from people who don't actually have any original news.

Twitter confirmed to TechCrunch that it is rolling out the new location feed feature to iOS users first, followed later on by other platforms.
